Josh McDermitt came to prominence back in 2010 when The Walking Dead first premiered. Despite McDermitt having a major role in the show, the actor is no fan of the fame and followers that come with being on a hit series, so much that he deleted his social media accounts! According to BBC, McDermitt deleted his online presence specifically due to online abuse. The actor was receiving countless death threats from fans of The Walking Dead when McDermitt's character, Eugene, formed a shocking alliance with the series villain, Negan.
8 Lorde - Gone For Good
Lorde is easily one of the biggest names in music, or at least she once was! Although the star has taken a hiatus from the public scene, she is still very much making music, however, you won't see her post about it on social media. While the 'Royals' singer still has her pages open, Lorde officially stopped posting and checking in to her accounts back in mid-2018.
The singer made it clear that she has no interest in being on social media, mainly for her mental health. "Part of what made me peace put on social media, apart from feeling like I was losing my free will, was the massive amount of stress I was feeling about our planet, about systemic racism, and about police brutality in this country", Lorde told VanityFair.

Emma Stone is quite a hot topic when it comes to celebs and social media! The star has actually opted out from using any form of social media so long she is a public figure. While Stone used a number of platforms prior to gaining massive fame and notoriety, however, she has since swept her existence off online and refuses to return.

Considering Tran is relatively new to the industry, the online hate and harassment were just far too much for the star to handle. The actress became the first woman of color to have a lead role in the film series, however, the celebration didn't last long. "It wasn't their word, it's that I started to believe them", Tran said. After receiving ruthless criticism from online trolls, Kelly stepped away from social in June 2018 and hasn't returned since.

Lizzo, who is currently experiencing some of the biggest success and fame after the release of her album, Cuz I Love You, also had to step back from social media! In January 2020, Lizzo revealed she would be taking a break from her Twitter citing "too many trolls" as her reason for leaving the platform.
The online slew of hate managed to reach Lizzo after she received immense backlash when she accused a Postmate delivery person of stealing her food back in September 2019. The hate came in full force and it was simply too much for Lizzo to handle. The star has since returned to Twitter but doesn't post nearly as much as she does on Instagram.

Lewis Capaldi saw a huge influx of fame after the success of his hit song Someone You Loved, which took the industry by storm. Well, the Scottish singer didn't last too long under the spotlight before feeling the heat of social media. Capaldi wanted to focus solely on his upcoming album, leaving him to make an announcement that he would be leaving Instagram and Twitter in a very cheeky post.
