It's safe to say that ESPN's highly anticipated documentary series, The Last Dance, lived up to expectations in just about every way.
Basketball fans got a never-before-seen look at the '90s Chicago Bulls dynasty, led by Michael Jordan. The series featured film footage from the 1997-98 season that had never been released, having stayed in a vault for two decades.
The series documented the events that shaped up the Bulls dynasty, as well as the life and career-changing moments for prominent players and personnel - including Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, general manager Jerry Krause and head coach Phil Jackson.
The final two episodes of The Last Dance aired on May 17, and unsurprisingly, the series has led to a surge in value for several Bulls memorabilia items.
Per the New York Post, a lengthy love letter that Jordan wrote to actress Amy Hunter sold for a whopping $25,703 this past Sunday. It previously sold for a much lower price of $2,560 in 2014.
So yes, The Last Dance obviously had a major effect on the value of that. The letter wasn't the only major '90s Bulls memorabilia item that sold for a giant price tag at auction, however.

On top of that, a ticket from Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals - Jordan's final game with the Bulls - sold for $6,133, according to the Daily Mail. That was the game where Jordan hit his career-defining game-winning shot that clinched the Bulls' sixth championship against the Utah Jazz. The Daily Mail noted that the ticket cost $25.50 back in 1998.
The backboard rim for the same game sold for a hefty price tag of $57,000. Also, 1986-87 Fleer Jordan rookie card sold for $100,000, per the Daily Mail.
ESPN initially planned to release the series in June, but with no sports on amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the network decided to being airing it in April. The Last Dance was the most-watched ESPN documentary ever, averaging 5.6 million viewers.
